**JOB** **SUMMARY**

The Human Resources Generalist serves as a resource and advisor to employees and management on HR related issues. Areas of responsibility include HRIS support and administration, guiding and coaching supervisors on policies, compensation, performance, and disciplinary actions, leave and injury claims management and employee relations matters. This position will successfully plan, implement, and maintain administrative processes, communications, and procedures, while encouraging and exemplifying open communication, responsiveness, confidentiality, respect, and fairness with and among employees.

**ROLE** **AND** **RESPONSIBILITIES****:

- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Serves as a key member of the Human Resources team and provides business support which aligns with company objectives.
- Implements and manages new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Ensures accurate interpretation and administration of HR policies and programs.
- Acts as a change agent and discovers continuous improvement opportunities and takes initiative to drive incremental change in HR processes and systems.
- Maintaining optimal functions of HRIS by identifying and troubleshooting issues and assisting in developing best practices for continued oversight and improvement.
- Provides user support for HRIS login credentials, accesses, and navigation and conducts training as needed for user support related to HRIS, Time Capture, PTO, and performance processes.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Maintains accurate documentation and reports to enable timely response to Vehicle Incident Reports, Post Accident testing and first report of injury documents and claims processing.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including compensation, benefits, retirement savings and leave of absence.
- Administers workers' compensation, unemployment, STD, and LTD for non-exempt and exempt employees.
- Assist in building talent capability and bench strength, ensuring the right people are in the right jobs.
- Facilitate talent reviews, succession planning, and performance management.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Provides guidance on employment related issues (such as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, harassment, discrimination, diversity, corrective action, and progressive discipline) to operations leadership.
- Assists in the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Gathers and analyzes Human Resources metrics such as turnover and employee engagement surveys.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Administer compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations for employment law including but not limited to labor, compensation, EEO and ADA, and affirmative action planning.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
