Position Summary:
The Chief of Staff serves as the primary liaison and strategic partner to the CEO, responsible for overseeing all activities, communications, projects, and strategic initiatives emanating from the CEO’s office. In addition, this role focuses on promoting collaboration and alignment across all divisions of the organization.

Major responsibilities:

- Oversee communications from the CEO’s office, including speeches, acknowledgement process, weekly message to the community, staff communications, etc.
- Facilitate communication, collaboration, and alignment among different departments, fostering a cohesive working environment and ensuring that cross-divisional initiatives are coordinated effectively to meet organizational objectives.
- Facilitate lay and senior management engagement, programming, and processes:

- Executive committee (EC): Liaise with President and Chair, provide preparation for and attend EC meetings.
- Allocations steering committee (ASC): partner with the chair of the ASC to manage the organizational budget oversight process.
- Senior executive team (SET): oversee agenda setting for weekly SET meetings, liaise with SET members, plan annual retreat.
- Senior management group (SMG): set agendas for quarterly meetings and annual retreat. to ensure timely and effective cross-organizational communication and planning.
- Manage the strategy and operations associate and executive assistant to the CEO, maintaining close oversight of the CEO’s calendar, appearances, roles, and correspondence.
- Work closely with senior fundraising staff to coordinate the CEO’s donor stewardship and solicitation strategies.
- Develop and manage special projects and initiatives at the request of the CEO.

Qualifications and Competencies:

- 7-10+ years of professional experience.
- Ability to communicate the vision of the CEO, representing his/her perspective on a variety of issues, and work with staff across the organization.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Understanding of finance, information systems, organizational metrics.
- Ability to think strategically, assess, strategize, and execute a plan, while anticipating future consequences and trends.
- Strong project management experience demonstrating ability to meet multiple deadlines, move quickly from one project to another, marshal necessary resources, and manage expectations/timelines to achieve results.
- Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Possess incredible initiative, an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work beyond the organization’s required hours to support the CEO.
- A personal commitment to UJA-Federation’s mission.
- Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree a plus.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000; commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.
