**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Summary/Objective**
Exceptional Minds is seeking a part-time instructor to help with the demand for our summer workshops. This role would begin as an approx. 2-month contract position at 25 hours a week, roughly from the hours of 9:30am - 3:30pm (Monday through Friday) starting in June.
**Essential Functions**
- Able to teach beginner-level students from the ages 14+ Adobe Animate software and basic animation concepts/techniques.
- Open to teaching a workshop as a co-instructor, learning material, concepts, and techniques related mainly to 2D animation, but also open to teaching visual effects, motion graphics, or video editing.
- Communicate any issues relating to student concerns with the co-instructor or behavior team.
- Provide the lead instructor support, helping to communicate lecture material directly to students while training in material themselves.
- Communicate any student concerns to the behavior team.
**Preferred Education and Experience**
- 2-3 years of experience creating projects/work for clients that utilize the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Animate, or teaching.
- Comfortable with speaking in front of an audience.
- Familiar with the 12 principles of animation, 2D design, storyboarding, and layout.
- Team player
- Positive upbeat demeanor
- Enthusiasm to support and further EM Program and its Objectives.
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum is desired but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree desired, but not required.
- Demo reel in animation/visual effects, or related digital art is a plus.
