R&D Technical Communications Sr. Manager Content Strategy, Storytelling, Graphic Design, Visualization & Creative for R&D Head

We are looking for a R&D Technical Communications Sr. Manager to join our agile Research & Development Chief of Staff team. This role will support the creation of visual and creative content that highlights our capabilities and expertise in R&D, showcasing how our scientists are creating new innovations and why it is so important. Reporting to the Chief of Staff for Amgens Chief Scientific Officer (Executive Vice President, R&D), you will work with our senior leaders, scientists, drug developers, physicians, and business teams to produce content that is clear, compelling, and insightful. What you will do
Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with and support the CSO, R&D Chief of Staff, R&D Corporate Affairs team, and other key stakeholders in all aspects of your workMap Out Presentation Objectives: Define objectives and create story boards for internal and external presentations given by Amgens CSOCreate Visual Content: Develop graphics, animations, and visualizations to communicate complex scientific and clinical concepts in an engaging and clear manner for a wide range of audiences (R&D all staff; board of directors; industry peers; academics; etc.)Utilize Software: Work proficiently with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and scientific visualization tools (BioRender, PyMol, ChemDraw etc.) as well as generative AI image software to produce high-quality contentManage Content Plans: Develop and support workflows, for deliverables with overlapping timelines, that follow proper review and approval process to ensure content accuracy, effectiveness, and message buy-in from, including protection of confidential informationOversee Animations and Mechanism of Action Visuals: Manage the production of animations and mechanism of action (MoA) visuals to support R&D storytelling and educationWinWhat we expect of you

Bachelors degree & 8 years of directly related experienceOR Associate degree & 10 years of directly related experienceOR High school diploma / GED & 12 years of directly related experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience: Proven experience in graphic design and visualization within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare sectorsTechnical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and scientific visualization tools such as BioRenderEducational Background: Bachelors Degree in graphic design, life sciences, communications, or a related fieldCommunication Skills: Ability to work effectively with all levels of management, including senior executives and strong storytelling skills to translate complex scientific content into engaging visualsProject Management: Meticulous, organized, and experienced in managing complex projects across cross-functional teamsCreativity and Innovation: Ability to think quickly, analytically, and creatively to accommodate a dynamic communications environmentInterpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiastic team player and self-starter; serious commitment to hard work and excellenceThriveWhat you can expect of us

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
