**JOB SUMMARY**
Primary duty in the Receiving Department is delivery of incoming freight to the appropriate departments, with occasionally being asked to receive, sort, and track freight in the Receiving area. Primary duty in the Postal Center is to process outgoing mail, perform outside Courier duties as needed in support of the operations of the Gulf Region Postal Center, which can include pickup and delivery of USPS mail, interdepartmental mail, daily bank deposits, and any other appropriate items, for transporting to various MCC locations and/or departments. May occasionally be asked to receive and stock medical supplies from MCC prime vendors.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Deliver all incoming freight to departments, ensuring a signature in the tracking log by the individual who is accepting the goods on behalf of the department is obtained on each line item, regardless of the number of items being accepted by the individual, and the number of items being accepted is confirmed by both parties.
- Pick up USPS mail, interdepartmental mail, safe contents, daily deposit, and MedPro documents from the Gulf Region Postal Center and deliver to MedPro and/or Finance Department as needed or directed.
- Accomplish all scheduled outside courier deliveries and pick-up of items for transport to the Gulf Region Postal Center. Accomplish all unscheduled outside courier deliveries and pick-up of items as assigned by Department Director.
- Process outgoing USPS mail and packages, UPS, and FedEx utilizing current shipping equipment.
- Occasionally work in the Receiving Department and maintain its operation on a daily basis, when requested, receiving freight and packages from all major carriers on a daily basis, included but not limited to: FedEx, UPS, FedEx Ground, McKesson Surgical, and other carriers as needed.
- Coordinate the pickup of FedEx Ground packages from the Gulf Region Postal Center and stage in the Receiving Department daily for pick-up.
- Sort all incoming freight by department and floor.
- Identify any and all incoming freight that is not deliverable and notify Department Director.
- Track all incoming freight and packages by capturing and logging tracking numbers daily.
- Maintain all prior tracking logs in the receiving department for a minimum of three years and coordinate any purging of old logs with Department Director.
- Ensure all freight is secured in the receiving department until delivery to departments is accomplished.
- Receive and check McKesson deliveries for accuracy against packing slip.
- Ensure a general cleanliness of all work spaces including courier vehicle.
- Follow MCC’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Policy, which covers safety, responsibilities and expectations, and equipment inspections, for drivers of any MCC owned or leased vehicle. If any equipment on the vehicle is not working correctly, immediately notify the Director of Materials Management of any issues found. If a vehicle is potentially unsafe to drive, for any reason, immediately remove the vehicle from service and notify the Director of Materials Management.
- May be authorized and trained in the use of a fire extinguisher.
- Other duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum education requirement is high school diploma or GED.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, and be insurable according to our automotive insurance company’s criteria, to operate all MCC vehicles including rented equipment.
