SUMMARY:
The Material Handler II receives, stores, and distributes material, equipment, and products within the establishment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work within company guidelines and policies to ensure warehouse functions are consistent with procedures defined for this level after being trained.
- Weighs or counts items for receiving and distribution to multiple manufacturing plants in San Diego.
- Fills requisitions and work orders or issues material for distribution to assembly lines using manual and computerized programs.
- Packs finished goods and materials for shipment to customer locations using various freight carrier methods and systems
- Receives material components and assemblies from suppliers to support manufacturing, engineering, and customer service operations.
- Performs other related duties as needed or assigned.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent reading, writing, and math skills.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Good communications skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Skill: Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete the assigned task.
- Job Complexity: Works on semi-routine assignments but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
