Job Summary:

MILLENNIUMSOFT is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt and timely distribution of materials, as well as maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and Processing Materials:
    • Verify counts against packing slips and SAP for correct quantities
    • Inspect packages for damages
    • Ensure safe and proper handling, storage, and delivery of time and temperature sensitive materials as well as chemicals, biological and radioactive materials
  • Inventory Management:
    • Process and deliver materials to appropriate personnel
    • Ensure proper handling and storage of incoming chemical, biological, and radioactive materials
    • Maintain inventory of all necessary supplies used by the department
  • Logistics and Transportation:
    • Unload delivery trucks and transfer mail, supplies and small quantities of DOT regulated materials between sites on a fixed schedule
    • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner
    • Sort and distribute in-coming and out-going U.S. and international mail
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide accurate, timely, and courteous service to all customers
    • Follow client Biosciences Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures
  • Administrative Tasks:
    • Submit check requests as required to apply funds to the postage machine
    • Monitor usage and replacement of compressed gases on a manifold system

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Requires a high school diploma and 2 - 4 years experience in materials distribution (shipping/receiving/inventory) or equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Skills and Qualifications:
    • Good inter-personal, communication, and customer service skills
    • Ability to utilize computer systems, Excel, Word, other software packages
    • Familiarity with SAP and/or Lotus Notes is preferred
    • Ability to follow established policies and procedures
    • Strong verbal communication skills required
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
    • Basic mathematical skills are required
    • Ability to routinely lift up to 35 pounds unassisted
    • Valid driver's license and good driving record required
