**SUMMARY OF POSITION**:
As an integral part of the team and contact person for the Emergency Department, the Business Associate / Follow-up Clerk is responsible for establishing follow-up care within Montefiore's healthcare delivery system by accessing registration systems and/or communicating with other departments. They are also responsible for the business aspect of a patient's stay, as well as patient focused care within the Emergency Department. These activities include effective and professional communication with other departments, patients, staff, and other customers; chart maintenance and completion; performing unit reception duties; and other duties as assigned.
**SCHEDULE**:8:30 AM - 5 PM, rotating workdays.
**EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE**:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the Care Center.
- Knowledge of keyboarding and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Successful completion of Business Associate training program and competency-based orientation.
- Verbal and/or written knowledge of Spanish. Must be able to communicate effectively in Spanish as well as English.
