Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Associate located in Bronx, NY. The Sales Associate will be responsible for selling and promoting produce to customers, building and maintaining customer relationships, generating new business, handling and resolving customer issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Salary based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Makes multiple outbound calls each day
  • Coordinates questions and issues with the appropriate department personnel
  • Drafts outgoing correspondence (letters, e-mails, memos) and reports (charts, tables, graphs, etc.)
  • Provides clerical support, such as typing, filing, copying, data entry, and record keeping
  • Assists in the preparation of scheduled daily reports
  • Assists with market research
  • Works directly with and provides clerical support to the Sales Managers
  • Supports the Office Manager in various administrative duties
  • Manages inbound communication, such as phone calls and messages, e-mails, and letters
  • Assists with answering the phones when necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Follows all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates or Bachelors degree minimum is preferred
  • 1-2 years minimum of experience working in an office environment
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Must be proficient with statistical analysis
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
  • Highly professional, dependable, and productive with minimal supervision
  • Professional writing skills to compose memos, letters, and other business correspondence observing all rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
  • Fluent in English; Ability to speak and understand Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian or Lithuanian would be a plus
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
