Overview:
Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp offers a traditional camp experience in the heart of Manhattan at two locations - the Upper East Side and Battery Park City. We focus on building confidence, character, and community.
In addition to our active program Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp offers a wonderful Arts program. The Cooking Specialist will lead age-appropriate cooking lessons for each of our camp groups ranging in age 4-13yrs old.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare age
- appriate lesson plans for weekly lessons focusing on healthy engaging cooking.
- Collaborate with Head of Arts to finalize weekly lesson plans.
- Lead age
- appropriate cooking activities for each camper group
- Communicate with group counselors, needs of the lesson and delegate responsibilities.
- Work with Head of Arts (HoA) and Program Manager to order supplies needed for activities.
- Prep materials for projects in advance of activities
- Work with HoA on campus-wide projects
- Participate in campus-wide special events and theme days.
NOTE: Camp runs **from Thursday, June 27 to Friday, August 16 (no camp July 4 & 5)**. Camp staff are required to be on the premises by 8:00 am and the day is over by 4:45 pm. A full summer commitment is required. All summer camp employees are required to attend orientation the evenings of June 17, 18 and 20 and Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23.
**This position will require lesson planning and activity preparation prior the start of camp.**
**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $2,600.00 - $4,000.00 per month
