Job Summary:
Trevor Day School is seeking experienced Afterschool Teachers for Nursery-5th Grade to join our team. As an Afterschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach with other Afterschool Teachers to develop and implement daily routines, including supervising up to 60 children at a time, setting up and distributing snacks, taking attendance, and leading activities.
- Assist with daily activities, such as free-play, homework, and organized group activities, for children who are not registered in classes.
- Support specialized classes, such as chess, rollerblading, sports classes, and cooking, as needed.
- Work Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:45pm (with the possibility of working until 6pm).
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children at the early childhood and/or elementary level in a classroom or summer camp setting.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Extra Opportunities:
- Opportunities to work as Substitute Teachers during the day.
- Supervising childcare at various events throughout the year.
- Participating in a 2-week summer camp in June.
