Mathematics Educators for Summer Program

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced teaching assistants with a strong background in mathematical problem-solving to join our team at the Academy of Math and Programming (AMP) in New York City.
This is a temporary, six-week-long summer role, which includes one week of training. The program will take place from late June through early August, and will provide a unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of students and instructors.
Program Overview
The Academy of Math and Programming is a program for recent high school graduates of diverse backgrounds who have experienced barriers to access and opportunity within advanced STEM education. The program offers students a rigorous and rewarding curriculum that focuses on topics near and dear to Jane Street, including mathematics, computer programming, and game theory.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the curriculum for combinatorics and number theory, and assist with instructional and supervisory work
- Teach, guide, and play strategy games with students
- Reside with students in the dorms for the duration of the program
- Lead academic and social activities during evenings and select weekends
About You
- An undergraduate or graduate student with a strong background in mathematics
- Experience working with students or in an academic environment, such as summer camps, part-time jobs, tutoring, or mentoring
- Strong STEM-content knowledge, especially within the area of mathematics
- Enjoyment of strategy, logic, and mathematical game-playing is preferred
