Cambridge, United States Bristol-Myers Squibb Full time

**Working with Us**
Challenging. Meaningful. Life-changing. Those aren’t words that are usually associated with a job. But working at Bristol Myers Squibb is anything but usual. Here, uniquely interesting work happens every day, in every department. From optimizing a production line to the latest breakthroughs in cell therapy, this is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it. You’ll get the chance to grow and thrive through opportunities uncommon in scale and scope, alongside high-achieving teams rich in diversity. Take your career farther than you thought possible.

Bristol-Myers Squibb’s newest R&ED site located in Cambridge is in the heart of a vibrant ecosystem of world-class science, innovation, and business opportunities. Our research in Cambridge focuses on novel targets and pathways for tumors in oncology that are resistant to current therapies, as well as innovative discovery and translational medicine platforms to address unmet medical need in cardiovascular disease, immunoscience, immunology, neuroscience and fibrosis. We will continue to foster patient outreach and local external collaborations with biopharma, biotech, and academic partners in our pursuit to help patients prevail over serious diseases.

We are a team of scientists that pursue multidisciplinary, hypothesis-driven investigation into causal human biology to understand asset mechanisms of action and above-asset disease biology. This position will be part of the Translational Medicine Solid Tumor Lab Research Team based in Cambridge MA, and will focus on tissue-based research, including spatial biology. The team deploys the latest high dimensional profiling tools (including single cell genomics/epigenomics and spatial protein/RNA characterization) in patient tumor samples to fill translational knowledge gaps relevant to our early and late development pipelines. Such knowledge gaps include the study of tumor and microenvironment heterogeneity, identification of mechanisms of action and resistance to therapy, and improved patient stratification with novel biomarkers. In this position you will combine disease specific knowledge with tissue and circulating human biomaterial profiling techniques for multi-dimensional data generation to answer key translational questions for our programs. The primary responsibilities of the role will involve coordinating high dimensional profiling of tissue samples in our lab with key stakeholders from our clinical biomarker teams, discovery groups, and bioinformatics teams.
- Applies scientific and technical skills and functional knowledge to design, execute and interpret experiments and projects
- Independently plans, directs and executes laboratory research in collaboration with stakeholders
- Manages project timelines and budget, reporting to Solid Tumor Lab Head
- Responsible for managing 1-2 lab-based direct reports
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and deliverables
- Presents supportive arguments for complex ideas and projects to multidisciplinary, cross-departmental meetings in a way that persuades them to adopt a different point of view, when appropriate
- Makes decisions that impact project team and its stakeholders
- Develops and implements proactive approaches to new technology and processes
- May lead initiatives related to continuous improvement or development of new approaches / technologies within a department
- May lead complex programs / projects within a department
- Act as a mentor to others

- Has experience in translational exploratory research and contextualizing findings with respect to disease biology (oncology) and biomarker discovery.
- Has hands-on experience with generating multi-omics datasets and high dimensional profiling (such as: bulk genomics, single cell genomics, and/or spatial protein and transcriptomic profiling of tumor and microenvironment).
- Familiarity with harnessing spatial relationship of cell phenotypes from patient samples for biomarker discovery, working in collaboration with biostatistics groups.
- Familiarity with current spatial biology technologies and image analysis platforms.
- Able to lead all aspects of a project from inception, execution, and reporting within a diverse matrixed team.
- Proficient in reporting, communicating, and presenting scientific work to diverse functional groups and audiences
