Under the general direction of the Deputy Chief Counsel, and under the direct supervision of the Staff Services Manger II, the incumbent is responsible for supervising, directing, and coordinating the work of a group of professional support staff. The incumbent will serve as the first-line supervisor to Legal Support Supervisor I as well as office support staff and second-line supervisor to Legal Secretaries. The Staff Services Manager I will function as the Office Manager performing a wide variety of tasks in the areas of budget, procurement, library services, administrative and personnel management to support the Los Angeles Legal Office.
- The Caltrans Legal Division is comprised of five offices statewide including its headquarters office near the State Capitol in Sacramento and branches in Oakland, Los Angeles, San Diego and Fresno.

Working Conditions

**Position located in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County.**

While at their base of operation, employees will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial light. However, due to periodic problems with the heating and air conditioning, the building temperature may fluctuate.
