**Development Coordinator**

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate will be an integral part of Aurora’s fundraising strategy and partnerships development team and will help coordinate multifaceted outreach efforts to grow Aurora’s donor base in the U.S., and globally. This is a full-time position based in Washington, D.C. with the expectation of at least 3 days per week in office. Up to 30% travel should be expected.

**Responsibilities**

The Development Associate’s core responsibilities will span donor and sponsor engagement and stewardship, tracking and reporting, donor communication, and coordinating event-based fundraising tasks.
- Fundraising cultivation, solicitation and stewardship through Aurora’s existing network and new prospect research to secure major gifts and grants
- Donor outreach communication, customized and in bulk, to grow organizational capacity to fundraise and reach new donor audiences, including individual and institutional donors
- Managing recording, reporting and tracking KPIs for fundraising data and donor outreach and engagement in Salesforce CRM and collaborative team action plan
- Working across multiple team leads in coordinated effort leading up to and following annual Aurora Prize Ceremony and Events and other events organized by the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative
- Coordinating logistics for Aurora events: managing donor participation and attendance, assisting with online event page management, program preparation and distribution, seating plan management, volunteer training and management, etc.
- Working with Development Director and event management team on donor stewardship, communications and tracking
- Preparing and sending acknowledgements across multiple categories of donors
- Assisting with digital mass communication to Aurora database, including eblasts, targeted appeals, newsletters and surveys
- Prospect research for new potential donors, pro bono opportunities and strategic partnerships
- Assisting with development project management and communication across Aurora’s global team and U.S.based partners
- Tracking progress toward fundraising projections, goals and targets
- Working in cooperation with the Finance and Legal team towards preparation and signing of agreements.
- Database maintenance and updates
- Assisting in some administrative tasks for nonprofit operations and compliance

**Qualifications**
- Familiarity with or experience working in the nonprofit sector
- Strong prioritization and project management skills; proven ability to hit deadlines within and beyond the office in a multicultural, multi-geography environment
- Experience using or managing CRM or database; experience with Salesforce required
- Strong IT user skills
- Excellent communication (oral, written, live and asynchronous)
- Ability to achieve goals and align interests through cooperation and collaboration with other groups and cross-functional teams, even where no direct reporting relationship exists
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive matters
- A strategic, solutions-focused thinker with the ability to work both individually and as a member of a collaborative team
