Research Development Operations Assistant

This is a hybrid position, reporting on Grounds at least 3 days each week. This position is a restricted three-year term, renewable based on performance and departmental funding.
**The key responsibilities for this role are**:
- Update and revise RD website content.
- Create and maintain a database of RD projects.
- Generate and distribute periodic newsletters, using content contributions from RD staff.
- Manage logistics for RD events, which may include venue arrangements and reservations, coordination of catering, printing and assembling attendee information and materials, day-of and on-site support, virtual event management in Zoom or MS Teams, managing RSVPs and monitoring event attendance.
- Manage surveys of event attendees and of faculty after conclusion of RD projects.
- Work with RD Specialists to coordinate virtual meetings for collaborators on large/complex proposal projects.
- Participate and/or assist the team with other RD activities and special projects.
- Contribute to RD unit planning, team learning, communication, and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Required Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree plus three years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
**Experience with the following is preferred but not required**:
- Event coordination, in person and virtual
- Drupal or other web-editing tools
- MailChimp and Qualtrics
- Customer service

**Anticipated Salary Range**: $24.04 - $28.85 per hour ($50,000 - $60,000 annually); commensurate with qualifications and experience.
**Physical Demands**:This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job may occasionally require traveling within the greater Charlottesville area to attend events.
