**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities for the Collections Associate**:

- Negotiate payment arrangements and terms with tenants in accordance with company policies and procedures, while demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities and communications with tenants, utilizing our property management software.
- Collaborate closely with property managers and the Multifamily Operations Specialist to address tenant concerns and resolve payment issues effectively.
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts based on account status and delinquency levels.
- Identify and escalate accounts that require further action, such as legal proceedings or third-party collections, in coordination with legal and compliance teams.
- Provide regular updates and reports on collection activities to management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.

**Qualifications of the Collections Associate**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or property management within the real estate industry.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations and maintain professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices in the real estate sector preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
