The outcomes could lead to transformative improvements in production efficiencies, offering new insights into biomanufacturing processes. Responsibilities include designing and developing real-time data acquisition hardware to monitor single-cell biophysical properties; constructing and validating computational models for data analysis and simulation of cellular dynamics; using advanced computational techniques such as machine learning and statistical modeling to predict the properties of cellular products from biophysical data and aiming to boost production efficiency; analyzing large datasets to discern patterns and relationships in cellular biophysical properties; developing predictive models to estimate the outcomes of cellular engineering processes; collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to integrate data science with biophysical research; and performing other duties as assigned. May contribute to the preparation of research narratives for grant proposals, train others on routine techniques and methods, and guide/direct graduate students.

**Job Requirements**
**- REQUIRED_: Ph.D. in an engineering-related field, data science, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field; two years’ related experience in a research environment (may include experience as a graduate student); experience with microfluidic operations, hardware design/development, and data analysis; proficiency with scientific computing using programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB; familiarity with machine learning frameworks and statistical analysis tools; expertise managing complex datasets and achieving precision measurements with novel technologies; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; and commitment to using data science for solving fundamental problems in biomanufacturing. **Job #24073**
