ASU TRIO Programs seeks a Program Coordinator for the Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the individual hired will implement recruitment and academic sessions, academic/college preparatory workshops (both in-person and virtually), and support the testing component. The intern will also provide leadership and support to other student coordinators as well as assist in various other related duties such as coordinating with and supporting other ASU TRIO programs which provide participants with skills and the motivation necessary to enter and complete a program of secondary and postsecondary education.

**Days and Schedule**: Work location is primarily at the Tempe campus; however, incumbent will travel to off-campus events and other ASU campuses to perform work driving their own vehicle. This position is a full-time position from Monday thru Friday 8AM to 5PM, including some evenings and weekends. Flexible work arrangements are available in an alternative or hybrid schedule but will be based on the work and the needs of the university and department operations and pending leadership approval.

**Essential Duties**
- Assist in planning and administration of service delivery.
- Develop, implement and evaluate academic activities around Writing and/or Spanish to support participants’ readiness for college level academics
- Provide instruction in the areas of Writing and/or Spanish
- Create and implement supplemental instruction program that focuses on academic college preparedness and transition (e.g., developing timeline of content delivery, working with community partners for guest curriculum).
- Organize, coordinate and conduct pertinent academic testing for all program participants as required; gather, evaluate, analyze and report testing data.
- Drafting, testing, and disseminating program evaluations to program participants, analyzing that data, and writing reports and recommendations to the Program Director.
- Maintain student database and prepares documentation, student communication, and reports as needed.
- Assist with supervision of student workers.
- Attend all training, activities, and staff meetings.
- Assist the Program Director in preparing proposals and reports as required by the U.S. Department of Education, Arizona State University, and other organizations.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Position requires work on weekends and evenings.
- General work schedule is:

- At ASU: Mondays through Saturdays, to be determined, some evenings and weekends.
- Special events including field trips may take place throughout the year requiring one to work all day.
- Primary work location is on the ASU Tempe campus, however work for this position may occur across ASU campuses (Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic, Tempe, and West) as well as at approved community partner locations within Maricopa and Pinal counties, the program's target area. Reliable transportation is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director.

**Minimum Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

**Desired Qualifications**
- Experience with TRIO, educational equity organizations and/or similar college preparatory programs
- Experience with military veterans and/or veteran students (e.g., adult students over the age of 21 who have served in the U.S. armed forces)
- Experience teaching or developing curriculum
- Experience with recruiting of participants
- Experience with diverse populations particularly those from low-income family backgrounds and first-generation to attend postsecondary institutions
- Demonstrated knowledge about financial aid, such as FAFSA and scholarships
- Experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the program's target population
- Evidence of a Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education or related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills including use of MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Access), social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.), G Suite (e.g., Google Drive, Gmail, Hangouts, etc.) and ASU computer systems (e.g., Peoplesoft, Salesforce, Canvas, Zoom, Slack, etc.)
