**The Position**

Organon’s US Policy and Government Affairs Office in Washington, D.C. is looking for an extraordinary graduate student or recent college graduate interested in health policy development. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the life-sciences sector and to learn how companies, stakeholders, and governments address healthcare issues at the state and federal level.

Organon, a life-sciences company with a mission to advance women’s health, is seeking graduate or post-graduate Associate for its US Policy and Government Affairs team. The Associate will have a broad set of responsibilities including to support policy research and advocacy across industry and therapeutic areas and will work closely with multiple teams within the organization. This is a paid position based in Washington, DC. The position allows for a virtual and flexible work schedule, to be worked out with the supervisor, but weekly time-in-office and in-person meetings are expected.

**Responsibilities**

The Associate will have the following primary responsibilities:

- Conduct independent projects including the collection, analysis, and synthesis of data and/or information related to the biopharmaceutical and medical technology industries, public health, product reimbursement, health access, and equity as well as relevant institutions, regulatory processes, and initiatives.
- Support the US c Policy Office in its daily or routine tasks and operations, including developing talking points, presentations, and backgrounders.
- Organize and facilitate meetings and events, either independently or as part of a team, including managing workflow and logistics.
- Observe and report out summaries of external meetings including industry briefings, policy forums, patient group discussions, and Congressional hearings.
- Attend internal meetings and strategy sessions.
- Support the policy team’s development and engagement.
- Develop materials for internal and external use.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned.

This position will interact with various stakeholders in state legislatures and Washington, DC, including policymakers, trade associations, and others to gain first-hand policy experience. The Associate will also gain in-depth knowledge of the life-sciences industry from a private sector perspective and develop a strong understanding of the intersecting public and private organizations and networks within Washington, DC. Possible travel considered.

**Required Education, Experience and Skills**
- Currently or recently enrolled in a relevant graduate degree program (global or public health, life sciences, medicine, political science, etc.)
- 0-3 years relevant professional experience.
- Interest in public health, women’s health, and/or political engagement.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Strong relationship building and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to high quality work products.

**Key Success Factors**

Paid Position. Anticipated start as soon as possible in the Summer/Fall 2024 for a 6-month duration.
