**Duties**:
Work at the GS-09, GS-11 and GS-12 levels differ in terms of knowledge required, supervisory controls, and complexity of the work. This is a career ladder position and has growth potential to the Grants Management Specialist (Policy), GS-1109-11/12.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

- Developing and interpreting grant management policies, regulations, procedures, and practices.
- Determining soundness and supportability of proposed policy decisions and exceptions.
- Coordinating with grants management and program staff, legal counsel and other partners in matters relating to grants policy.

**Qualifications**:
**Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.**

**At the GS-09**:Must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the **GS-07 **level in the Federal service (obtained in the public or private sectors) that include at least (3) of the (4) following duties:
- Interpreting basic regulations and policies that govern the grants management process.
- Performing administrative duties to support a grant management program.
- Participating in the grants management process and/or the awarding of grants.
- Rectifying and/or escalating grant management issues to leadership.

**OR** a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related;
- **OR** a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.
- **At the GS-11**: Must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the **GS-09** level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing at least (3) of the (4) following duties:
- Interpreting grant management policies, regulations, procedures, and practices to analyze grant policy issues.
- Assisting with evaluating the soundness and supportability of proposed grant management policy decisions and exceptions.
- Collaborating in making grant management policy and/or procedure recommendations to leadership.
- Assisting with the development of briefing and/or decision documents for senior management consideration.

**OR** a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related;
- **OR** a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.
- **At the GS-12**:Must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the **GS-11 **level in the Federal service (obtained in the public or private sectors) that include at least (3) of the (4) following duties that includes the following:
- Evaluating the soundness and supportability of proposed grant management policy decisions and exceptions.
- Assisting senior staff in the development of policies of broad applicability and Agency-specific implementation procedures.
- Preparing grant management policy briefing and/or decision documents for senior management consideration.
- Providing information and/or training to grants management staff with respect to policy considerations.
