ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Coop Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution with over 7,700 members and about $50 million in assets. We serve communities in Central and Eastern Brooklyn with long histories of marginalization with respect to financial services. The credit union provides fair and affordable financial services, including savings, checking, and CD accounts, and consumer, business, and housing loans.

: A Teller is a key position at the credit union. S/he is often the first point of contact for people interested in learning what we do, to open an account, or with questions or concerns regarding their existing account. A Teller is responsible for executing day-to-day monetary transactions. The best person for this position will be a pro-active, diligent, reliable, and friendly team member willing to support the organization as outlined below and in ways that will evolve over time.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Execute member transactions accurately, conduct reconciliations and reports as needed or required. This includes, but is not limited to checks, verifying currency, balancing individual cash box/cash recyclers (TCR), daily reports, CTR’s, SAR’s.
- Compliance with federal regulations regarding BSA, OFAC, and Reg CC
- Adhere strictly to security, operating, and compliance policies.
- Promote the credit union’s diverse programs within the membership.
- Complete other projects assigned by managers in a timely fashion.

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Two years of cash-handling experience
Associate degree or higher

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- Cash Handling Skills
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Great organizational and multitasking skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Solving problems and determining solutions

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Professional office environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Low-intensity work: exerting no more than 20 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The credit union offers PTO, Sick leave, Sabbatical leave, a 401K plan including employer match, and health care benefits. Hourly $23.63 based on experience.

Pay: $23.63 per hour

Expected hours: 33 - 35 per week
