The Tax Lead is responsible for employer payroll tax compliance, filing and audits. This includes investigation and analysis of tax payment fluctuations. The Tax Lead must also serve as a liaison with internal and external departments to resolve inquiries regarding tax issues.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- Supervision a team of Tax Specialists
- Facilitate tax data gathering for preparation of quarterly and annual filings
- Monitor changes in law or regulations and other aspects of tax policy for areas of responsibility
- Coordination of the training of new employees on different tasks and responsibilities
- Maintaining the tax and other deadlines and prioritizing workflow of the team
- Resolve tax issues for internal and external clients
- Execute a strategic initiative and have a strong ability to analyze data
- Perform data analysis and audit projects to ensure refund opportunities
- Gather information requested for audits
- Collaborate with peers and subordinates to improve efficiency through technology and process improvements
- Oversight and assistance in maintenance of uploads
- Coordination with peers and subordinates on procedure issues
- Projects deemed necessary by the Tax Manager and Controller
- Other duties as assigned
**EDUCATION**
- Associate degree preferred
**EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- 3-5 years of payroll tax experience preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office products is necessary, specifically Microsoft Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to analyze data
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Experience with managing a team

Work is performed in a typical office setting, hybrid setting, or remote.
