The Business Development Manager will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of our organization. This role focuses on developing and executing strategies that ensure:
- Profitable Growth: Continuously enhancing our market presence and financial performance.
- Diversification: Expanding our reach beyond the automotive sector.
- Core Competency Expansion: Building upon our existing strengths to explore new opportunities.
This position reports directly to the President and entails a range of responsibilities, including:
- Refining and executing a comprehensive business plan targeting optimal market segments beyond automotive.
- Enhancing our automotive business through engagement with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
- Identifying high-potential prospects across both automotive and non-automotive sectors.
- Ensuring sales and gross margin profitability for assigned accounts, with a keen understanding of cost drivers and their impact on profitability.
- Participating in initiatives to identify alternative strategies for expanding our core competencies, utilizing insights gained from market research and customer feedback.
- Managing key customer accounts and ensuring seamless coordination of deliverables with internal teams.
The role requires a commitment to travel, with regular overnight trips expected. Given the external focus of this position, candidates should be prepared for flexible working hours to meet the needs of our clients and the organization.
Qualifications- A four-year degree in a technical or business discipline is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience in developing and executing successful business plans targeting new market segments.
- Demonstrated success in selling to large OEM accounts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read component part and assembly prints.
- Experience in the packaging and automotive/industrial OEM sectors is preferred.
- A proactive, energetic, and highly motivated individual.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to ethical practices.
- Ability to understand customer objections and develop effective strategies for resolution.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and confident in decision-making.
- Strong aptitude for anticipating market trends and customer needs.
- Proven ability to set and achieve deadlines.
The total compensation package, including base salary and performance-based incentives, will be commensurate with experience and results achieved.
