**Purpose & Objective of the Job**:
The Executive Director, Medical Performance and Outcomes (MPO) will establish the Medical Performance and Outcomes capability globally to drive the value of Medical Affairs. S/he will report to the Vice President of Medical Excellence and is a key strategic leader for BMS Medical Affairs. T he Executive Director is responsible for leading the measurement strategy development and tactical planning to demonstrate the value of medical initiatives across BMS and enable data-driven decision making. The objective of this capability is to deliver operational excellence, enable process improvement, and elevate the overall impact of the Medical therapeutic area (TA) strategies.

**Key Responsibilities**:
As a core member of the Medical Excellence Leadership Team, the Executive Director, Medical Performance and Outcomes (MPO) is accountable for the following: "
- Establish the Medical Performance and Outcomes capability, including vision, strategy and tactical plan and p rovide ongoing strategic direction and leadership for the MPO function.
- Drive impactful measurement and evaluation of Medical Affairs activities in alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
- Develop and implement comprehensive frameworks and methodologies to measure the performance and outcomes of medical affairs initiatives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of tactics (e.g., medical content, evidence generation activities, insights development ) and provide recommendations to drive decision making.
- Serve on Medical and cross functional leadership forums as needed.
- Partner closely with BI&A, Medical Directors across TAs, publications, and field medical stakeholders to support MPO's strategic goals and delivery of impactful recommendations.
- Contribute to decision-making that informs the strategic direction of the broader Medical Excellence function.
- Integrate country and local needs into global co-created measurement strategies and tactics.
- Develop a high-performance culture and team by leading and mentoring direct reports, fostering innovation, collaboration, customer focus, personal accountability, and a commitment for results.
- Effectively manage resources and budget to deliver on business commitments.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- BA/BS degree required ; Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA)
- 1 5 + years of experience working within the pharmaceutical industry, global experience strongly preferred.
- 8 + years of demonstrated management and leadership experience mandatory; life sciences management consulting experience preferred.
- Proven ability to identify and implement impact measures, organize, and analyze data, and interpret and synthesize complex reports to derive key outcomes and develop consumable content for diverse audiences.
- E xceptional business acumen and ability to think strategically, impact and influence senior executives to drive optimal business results.
- Advanced leadership skills, experience in managing global/virtual teams, understanding of Research and Drug Development portfolio, and the ability to communicate data in an impactful way.
- Proven experience in building new capabilities, establishing strategic direction/vision for an organization, and proven ability to implement such vision; ability to take educated risk, rise above technical expertise ; demonstrating judgement, wisdom and understanding of impact.
- Expert data storytelling, communication, and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex ideas, advise senior leadership, and ensure medical impact.
- Ability to lead teams through direct and indirect influence to drive optimal business results in a complex matrix organization.
- Experience delivering strategic recommendations and solutions to inform resource allocation, prioritization, and KPI tracking to assess business value and impact.
