**MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A GENERAL RESIDENTIAL OPERATION FOR CHILDREN OR A RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTER FACILITY FOR CHILDREN 10 - 17 YEARS OLD**
As a Caregiver for our program, you must have the knowledge, skills, and ability to do the following:
Knowledge of the characteristics and concepts of working with children dealing with emotional disorders, needs, and related physical conditions / treatment approaches for residents.
Knowledge of simple direct care responsibilities, first-aid, behavior management, personal and environmental hygiene.
- Ability to implement and follow the policies and procedures of the department, facility or service entity
- Ability to engage in the care, and life skills training of residents.
- Ability to teach residents proper eating, bathing, dressing, grooming and other self
- care skills.
- Ability to participate with professional staff in the design and implementation of training and programmatic activities.
- Ability to perform established training, care and programmatic activities.
- Ability to observe the rights and personal dignity of others
- Ability to observe, record and report clients' behavior, attitude and physical condition.
- Ability to perform simple math and communicate effectively, both orally and written.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with residents and other employees.
- Provide 24-hour supervision and daily care needs to residents
- Prepare and cook well balanced meals
- Dispense medication to clients and document
- Maintain all log books
- Monthly Fire Drills (day and night-time)
- Practice evacuation procedures
- Complete incident report for all injuries
- Perform Observation Checks when residents are sleeping
- Ensure safety of residents
- Attend and transport residents to appointments and activities
- Assist with coordination of outside services and care for residents
- Other reasonable duties asked
**Minimum Qualifications for Direct care staff**:
Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be at least 21 years of age, able to pass a background check, and a drug test.
**Additional Requirements**:
- Proof of valid Texas Driver's License
- Access to reliable transportation
- Proof of valid/current auto insurance (only hired employees who transport clients)
- Cleared criminal background check
- Cleared TB test results (current within 12 months prior to employment)
- Cleared drug screen
- Trained in Emergency Behavior Intervention/Crisis Prevention
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Rotating weekends
- Weekends as needed
