Records Section Supervisor

Work includes participation in the selection, training, discipline, and performance appraisals of assigned employees; database administration of several systems at the St. Petersburg Police Department's; serving as the alternate Odyssey access administrator; the development, preparation and presentation of various reports including monthly reports; and supervising the Records Division to include the Uniform Crime Report Unit, public records requests, Court Liaison, Uniform Crime Reporting, Sealing and Expungement, and NCIC/FCIC unit, reproduction of the non-emergency audio recordings. Work requires careful coordination with the activities of internal as well as external organizations and agencies; the ability to firmly and tactfully enforce all applicable rules and regulations; a thorough understanding of standards and operating procedures; and the ability to effectively supervise employees.

**Salary: $57,631 - $91,881**

**To Qualify**

**Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must**:

- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Have at least four (4) years of professional supervisory experience, preferably in a law enforcement setting.
- Have considerable knowledge of the methods of law enforcement records management and State of Florida Public Records Law 119.
- Have considerable knowledge of English language and grammar.
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Be able to competently prepare reports and perform varied clerical duties.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.

**Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants**:

- Have some knowledge of the City’s organization and various functions across all departments.
- Are highly proficient in the use of a keyboard to enter data and produce related documents, reports, and correspondence.
