The Global Health Social and Behavior Change (GHSBC) is seeking a **_Project Director_** who will lead and manages the GHSBC Project. This is a Key Personnel role approved by USAID. S/he is the primary communication channel for USAID, has direct responsibility for financial oversight of USG and other project funds, and has representational responsibility for outreach and promotion of the project. S/he oversees all field and core program implementation, project communications, research, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and all financial and programmatic reporting activities.

The Project Director has overall responsibility for setting up the strategic vision, coordinating project activities, and managing staff. S/he proactively engages a broad range of partners, stakeholders, and implementers in advancing the SBC practice globally. S/he is responsible for representing the project to USAID and other collaborating agencies and cultivates open and collaborative management relationships with the project team at USAID/Washington, and relevant USAID/missions.

**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
- Lead the continuing development and implementation of the GHSBC project.
- Assure that CCP and the GHSBC team meet commitments to USAID for all project deliverables, outputs, and other related activities by ensuring they are high-quality and evidence-based, submitting them in a timely manner, and engaging and leading training and capacity-strengthening efforts.
- Function as the chief liaison and represent the GHSBC project at all levels to USAID and other key stakeholders, including collaborating agencies. Set vision and strategy with input from the USAID Agreement Officer's Representative (AOR) Team, the GHSBC Senior Management Team, CCP leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Program Management _
- Lead the large-scale GHSBC project. Specific duties and responsibilities may include,
- Envision, design, and initiate new activities according to the larger project goals.
- Produce, edit, and or review documents, work plans, reports, and presentations.
- Oversee budget development and resource allocation.
- Oversee staffing, roles, and level of effort to meet project goals.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between project, finance, and administrative staff to ensure team functioning to meet program goals.
- Ensure responsible and responsive partner engagement.
- Facilitate and model frequent, open, ongoing communication with project team members in all locations (offsite, in headquarters, and internationally).
- Lead engagement with partners and collaborators within CCP and the University system as well as external partners.
- Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and policies of USAID, Johns Hopkins University (JHU), and CCP.

Put in place tools, processes, and structures to ensure excellence in programs, products, and deliverables to meet project goals.
- People Management _
- Design and manage effective team structure to meet project goals.
- Effectively supervise, coach, and mentor staff.
- Ensure the orientation and training of new staff members.
- Conduct regular (at least quarterly) check-ins and annual performance reviews with all supervisees.
- Identify and recommend appropriate professional development opportunities and provide coaching and mentoring to promote continued growth and improvement among supervisees and other project staff.
- Oversee and ensure the high quality of work produced by staff or team by encouraging the use of existing processes, tools, and routines, or the development of new ones for effective implementation. Operate with compliance to all JHU supervisory policy.
- Technical Work _
- Oversee high-level strategy design and implementation.
- Strengthen staff capacity in technical work, including strategies, toolkits, communication materials, scripts, job aides, needs assessments, etc.
- Generate and envision new activities, ideas, frameworks, and strategies that further high-level goals.
- Use, develop, and model tools, processes, best practices, and stakeholder reviews to ensure all products and documents are of the highest quality possible.
- Provide timely feedback to project staff about work quality so that concerns about errors, omissions, poor-quality products, etc., can be addressed in a timely manner.
- In collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MEL) Director, strategically plan for MERL activities
- Demonstrate technical expertise in relevant technical areas (i.e., SBC, knowledge management, health areas, etc.) and build capacity in others.
- Demonstrate high-level technical communication, including writing reports, creating and giving presentations, and facilitating training sessions or group discussions. Ensure excellence in programs, products, and deliverables to meet project goals.
