Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Director responsible for the delivery of large transit projects.  Position is based in Baltimore, MD 

Responsibilities:

  • Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering activities for assigned projects. 
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are on project-related issues and communicates decisions efficiently and effectively with client and stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrates experienced judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project problems, determining best path forward to resolve within contractual constraints. 
  • Engages in project activities at all levels to ensure that projects are delivered to Contract requirements within budget and schedule.
  • Critically evaluate contractor schedules to guide activities, coordinate resources, and mitigate risk.
  • Conduct and participate in project meetings to discuss progress, address issues, engage staff, and inform clients.
  • Provide technical analysis, cost analysis support, and review all requests for any changes submitted. Conduct negotiations for those approved under client change review process.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to benefit of the project and the business.
  • Work with project staff to progress project activities, manage risk, and reduce/eliminate schedule delays.
  • Coordinate project activities across all project disciplines.
  • Prepare monthly reports and presentations as required.
  • Maintain project budget and allocations on a fiscal year basis. Provide earned value tracking and estimates at completion.
  • Engage with Contractor executives to achieve project goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications

Minimum

  • BA/BA Engineering or related field
  • 10 years of transit project experience with an emphasis on large transit systems or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education,
  • 2 years of leadership experience

Preferred: 

  • Masters Degree
  • PE License
