**Purpose and Scope**

The Accounting Clerk plays a pivotal support role within the Foundation's financial team, assisting in the maintenance and processing of financial data to support the Foundation's mission and goals. This position is designed to provide essential support to the Senior Financial Analyst and the broader finance team by performing a variety of accounting and administrative tasks. The Accounting Clerk ensures the smooth operation of our financial systems and contributes to the timely completion of financial reporting and operational tasks. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the organization while providing excellent customer service to our fundholders and grantees. This role will be on a part-time basis with up to 15 hours provided per week.

**Requirements**:

- Performing basic accounting functions, including opening and retaining custody of checks and cash, depositing checks and cash, recording donations into C-Suite, entering expenses into expense software, and uploading approved expenses into C-Suite.
- Performing month-end functions, including bank reconciliations, investment reconciliation, and annuitant research.
- Monitoring and approving grant requests from fundholders, including mailing grant letters and communicating with grant recipients.
- Supporting the Senior Financial Analyst with accounting and data-centered projects, as assigned.
- Preparing and sending new donor welcome packets in a timely manner.
- Preparing and sending donor acknowledgment letters in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the preparation and execution of the audit.
- Assisting in preparing annual reports and monthly reporting package.
- Ensuring financial policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Providing system reports to the team as needed.
- Assisting with the Form 990 for submission.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
- Working knowledge of the Catholic Church, including familiarity with its structure, function, mission and operation.
- Knowledge of database logistics; strong proficiency with donor/fundraising database software preferred (Ex. C-Suite).
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; detail-oriented and persistent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and projects and able to prioritize based on deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when interacting with other staff, volunteers, and community members.
- Ability to represent the Foundation professionally at community events and meetings.
- Passion for the Foundation's mission and commitment to serving the community.
- Maintain confidentiality of Foundation transactions; respect the privacy of persons served.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a non-profit environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to bridge the gap between different functions of the organization.
- Must be a personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one’s professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church.
