The Research Coordinator II will coordinate research activities primarily related to an NIH-funded 5-year project
- the Study on Medical marijuana and Its Long-term Effects (SMILE study for short) as well as other related research activities within the state-funded Consortium for Medical Marijuana Clinical Outcomes Research (Consortium for short). The position will include coordination of research activities locally and across multiple sites in Florida.
- ** Research coordination/supervision**:

- Coordinate and support day-to-day research activities of the SMILE study.
- Planning and coordination of study related protocol including research procedures and site oversight.
- Facilitation of weekly research team calls and communication.
- Ensuring recruitment staff are assigned to research sites and that the sites have information and guidance necessary to complete the studies including training.
- Ensure that data is collected and stored according to the study protocol and consistent with local, state and federal regulations. Retain records/archive documents after project close-out.
- Assist and support the principal investigator in written and oral communications with granting agencies, faculty, staff, and community groups.
- Oversee procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies (e.g. surveys), laboratory supplies, that are needed to conduct research.
- Make sure the study complies with federal, state, and sponsor, and institutional policies.
- Assist the PI with IRB protocol submission, revisions, and reporting.
- Train new research coordinators/assistants in Gainesville and other locations to do study procedures on data collection, participant follow-up and other study procedures as needed.
- Manage data entry process and ensure data entry is completed in a timely manner across all sites.
- Conduct or supervise research assistants in training participants on how to use the Ecological Momentary Assessment and Fitbit.
- Monitor field data on a daily basis to ensure data quality from Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) and Fitbit.
- Ensure the transferring of EMA and Fitbit data to a secure UF desktop computer on a regular basis.
- Maintain an up-to-date Study Manual of Operating Procedures.

**Recruitment, data collection, and follow-up**:

- This position will be responsible for recruitment, data collection and participant follow-up for the SMILE study and Consortium data collection.
- Help to enroll study participants, obtain informed consent, and collect research data using computer-based questionnaires, smartphone apps, wearable sensors, interviews, and cognitive assessments.
- Ensure proper collection of data and storage of data in appropriate locations.
- Track participants over time, which could involve attempts to contact persons after traditional working hours.
- Assist with transport and storage of biological specimens.

**Support other research activity or tasks**:

- This position will support other research projects as assigned by the PI.- Preparation of papers, posters and manuscripts for possible publications and presentations.
- Facilitate collaboration with new investigators and students from a variety of disciplines.
- Help create effective promotional materials for the project.

**Expected Salary**:
$50,500 - $58,000 annually; commensurate with qualifications and experience, and with a comprehensive and highly competitive leave and benefits package.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Previous experience with participant recruitment and community outreach and development.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to travel as needed.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Knowledge of grant proposals, post award management and IRB guidelines.
