**Position Description**

The Accounting Clerk is an integral team member of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles' Accounting & Finance department. They work closely with the rest of the Accounting & Finance department, our 26 branches and cross functional teams on matters related to payroll, wage and hours and accounting. They are responsible for performing daily payroll functions in an accurate and timely matter, providing support to the branches with payroll related issues, performing various accounting duties and supporting other duties and special projects as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Knowledge of Account Payable and Accounting Procedures.
- Thorough, detailed, insists on accuracy and strives for excellence
- Ability to be highly proactive, organized and attentive to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks/problems quickly and manage multiple requests/expectations
- Ability to exercise highest level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate well to individuals at all levels and departments
- Self-starter with confident and professional approach to work and a team environment
- Ability to work well with a team and independently with limited supervision
- Demonstrate experience in identifying end-to-end business process, and structuring workflows to support those processes
- Knowledge of HR/payroll systems (preferably Ceridian)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Experience in supporting and performing accounting functions a plus

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:
The Accounting Clerk Responsible for:

- Scanning of confidential information.
- Opening AP invoice mail
- PaperSave Workflow invoice entry information
- Auto Pay and pending approval invoice Data entry
- Back up data entry of PO invoices.
- Maintain accounting records
- Handle shipping services
- Metro mail services
- Mailing of AP checks
- Work on other special projects as assigned

**Maintain Accounting Records**
- Date Stamp U.S mail
- Scan U.S mail to proper Queues
- U.S Stamp all outgoing mail
- Review all check stubs and make folders
- Pull and re-file backups for AP team as needed
- Assist in pulling backups for all Audits when needed (GL)

**Maintain / Data Entry of branches Queues**
- Preparer PaperSave Workflow invoice entry of all invoice information for AP Manager to audit before forwarding to Branches
- Data Entry of all regular pending invoices
- Data entry of All Auto-Pays
- Back up for PO Data Entry
- Work as a team at all times
