Under the guidance of the Director of Programs, the Illinois Welcoming Center (IWC) Resource Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for potential program participants. This position will be responsible for conducting the initial pre-screening either by phone or in person to assess needs and determine eligibility of benefits. The Resource Coordinator will receive, prioritize, and triage service requests using a client-focused, strength-based approach.

**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide potential participants with information regarding document requirements, eligibility criteria and enrollment processes
- Conduct holistic intakes to identify individual and household needs
- Complete risk assessments and implement contingency plans to manage crises effectively
- Capture participants’ demographic information for data collection and reporting purposes
- Collaborate with Director of Programs when assigning clients for case management support
- Communicate with IWC Case Manager on clients’ experience, goals, barriers, and other relevant information prior to the start of services
- Conduct follow up services to current and former participants
- Collaborate closely with the staff on case reviews and care coordination
- Record all actions taken for each case utilizing the CharityTracker database and related filing system
- Respond to messages and assist with (re)scheduling participants for appointments for both on and offsite services
- Keep organized and updated information about local agencies and referral contacts to be able to advocate and connect families to internal and external resources
- Participate collaboratively in community activities, networking, and outreach events
- Complete monthly and quarterly reports in compliance with state and agency mandates
- Participate actively in opportunities for continuous professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed

**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must have a high school diploma or equivalency; Associate’s degree or higher preferred
- Fluent in reading, writing and speaking in Spanish
- One (1) year of experience in a social services or related agency
- High degree of cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with families from diverse racial, socio-economic, ethnic and educational backgrounds
- Knowledge and skill in working with families in crisis or in sensitive situations
- Demonstrated high quality interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to prioritize responsibilities and function effectively during stressful or busy periods
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Pay: Up to $43,680.00 per year
