**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:
**Operational Support**
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the COO's office, ensuring a professional and efficient working environment.
- Proactively identify and address issues that may impact the COO's effectiveness and provide solutions and recommendations to boost operational efficiency.
- Provide administrative support to the COO, including managing calendars and scheduling meetings.
- Prepare, edit, and refine reports, presentations, and other documents as required.
- Handle and prioritize incoming communications, ensuring prompt and effective responses
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication on behalf of the COO.

**Meeting Coordination**
- Organize and coordinate internally and externally facing meetings, conferences, and events, managing logistics, agendas, materials, and minutes.
- Ensure the COO is well-prepared, with all necessary information and documents.

**Project Management and Strategic Initiatives**
- Conduct research and gather information to support the COO's strategic planning and decision-making.
- Assist in planning and executing special projects and initiatives led by the COO.
- Monitor and report on the progress of key initiatives and provide regular updates to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of proven experience in a role that demonstrates strong organizational and administrative skills, with a preference for experience supporting senior executives in a large organization.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adaptable to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of productivity.
- Discretion and professionalism in managing sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms) required.
- This is an on-campus position requiring 4 days per week working onsite from our La Jolla campus, with flexibility to work 1 day per week remotely from home.

**COMPENSATON**:
The expected hiring range for this position is $80,700 to $91,600/annually, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
