**JOB SUMMARY**:

- This position establishes a safe and stable school climate and culture by collaborating with administrators, teachers, parents, and volunteers to ensure that all students are successful in the academically rigorous setting. The Dean will think critically about ways to solve disciplinary issues, including academic and non-academic issues, in order to ensure that students are getting the support they need to maintain high levels of performance. In addition, the Dean will build relationships with all students and families to help create a positive and supportive community.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- **LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:

- 1. Professional Educator License registered in Lake County
- 2. General Administrative Endorsement preferred but not required

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- 1. Considerable knowledge of current best practices, laws, including due process and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and interventions regarding the education of special needs students;
- 2. Considerable knowledge of specific disabilities and familiarity with common children’s mental health disorders, as well as specific strategies/interventions to use in the classroom or other school setting;
- 3. Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules, regulations and laws;
- 4. Knowledge of child development;
- 5. Knowledge of District and state attendance policies and laws;
- 6. Knowledge of District and state reporting procedures and requirements;

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
