- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requirements, high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- **LANGUAGE SKILLS**: The EMPLOYEE has to have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The EMPLOYEE has to have the ability to write simple correspondence. The EMPLOYEE has to have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- **MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**: The EMPLOYEE has to have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The EMPLOYEE has to have the ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic Computer skills (Windows, Word, and Excel), weight-track, and other internal programs are desirable. Not required for this level at this time. - PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an EMPLOYEE to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:While performing the duties of this job, the EMPLOYEE is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms, and is frequently required to walk. The EMPLOYEE is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to stand on his/her feet for approximately 9 hours every day.

- While performing the duties of this job, the EMPLOYEE is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure safe line set up and instruction to all employees in direct area by communicating appropriate safety hazards and power enabling/disabling devices in your/their direct work area. Supervises and coordinates activities of packers and craters.
- Ensure compliance with all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and sanitation standards.
- Pack the correct product in the proper packaging as well as in the proper outer case type. Studies “load sheet” to make sure they are using the correct type and quantity of containers, boxes or film.
- When not receiving the correct line speed/amount notify Bakery Manager that you are not receiving the correct amount.
- Set up line including equipment and personnel per standard or line requirement.
- Fill out pallet reports tickets, and place one on each pallet.
- Verify case count with Material Handlers to ensure proper inventory.
- Prepares all necessary charts (weights, OSD’s-overage, shortage, damaged) and printers for work to be performed.
- Test and ensure set-up of all wrappers, printers, box machines, metal detectors and conveyors prior to use.
- Start, stop and control speed of all machines and elevators and conveyors on your respective line and maintain production flow.
- Notify maintenance department of any machine malfunction or failure.
- Ensure that all finished product is coded properly, tagged for shipment and placed in designated area.
- Inspect product prior to packaging and record weight etc. on charts. Report any deficiencies to Bakery Manager.
- Maintain accurate specification charts and reports on volume of production, product specifications and production down time.
- Ensure all returns to warehouse of materials are properly wrapped and or covered for proper storage.18. Ensure “L” sealer is properly setup and ready for production.19. Ensure trays are sealed properly, and that the proper length of film is being used.20. Replace sealing tape when necessary.21. Replace and reload the film as necessary.
- Product evaluation check sheet per line need done every other hour per line.
- Metal Detection challenges per HAACP.
- Packaging area product safety and sanitation check needs done beginning of shift
- Ensure individual functions within packing department are completed properly. Work to address and minimize interpersonal conflict that arises between employees in the Packing area.
- Train/develop new employees to meet or exceed job requirements.
- Feedback to Bakery Manager progress reporting on new employees (EG meeting standard, making progress, not meeting standard and/or not making progress etc.)
