Accounting Assistant at FosterHope Sacramento. FosterHope Sacramento, a California-licensed 501(c)(3) nonprofit Foster Family Agency (FFA) that has been providing services since 1985, is seeking an Accounting Assistant to handle various administrative and bookkeeping tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee financial transactions, process financial documents, assist with account reconciliations, and budget creation. Handle Accounts Payable and Receivable, including billing and collections.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, supporting documents, and donor database. Ensure proper documentation for contracts and vendors.
- Communication: Manage communication with various stakeholders, including donors and resource parents. Send year-end donor acknowledgments.
- Reporting and Auditing: Assist in closing procedures, Annual Audit, and Annual Report. Support the preparation of financial reports and ensure accurate financial information across departments.
- Payment Processing: Prepare checks for signature, manage credit card expenses, set up monthly ACH payments, and send receipts to resource parents.
- Other Duties: Perform other assigned duties as required.
**Skills**:
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and financial transactions.
- Familiarity with financial regulations, i.e. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of MS Office 365 and Excel workbooks.
- Non-profit experience is a plus.
- Grant and contract knowledge is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliability and strong work ethics.
- Ability to solve problems.
**Qualifications**:
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 - 5 years AR/AP experience.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Outstanding teamwork and collaborative skills.
- Prior experience with accounting software QuickBooks or QB online.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pay range is $20-$24 per hour, and benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k).
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
