- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using the medical office's phone system
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Verify insurance coverage
*Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed and other front desk duties as required
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as directed by physicians
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
- Provide excellent customer service and address patient inquiries or concerns
**Skills**:
- Proficiency in using medical office software systems and EMR
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Previous experience in a similar role as a medical receptionist is preferred
