**Duties**:
The Assistant Administrator for Protective Services:

- Provides direction and oversight for Agency-wide assessments to determine Agency protective services and CI/CT posture, performance and requirements.
- Serves as the Administrator's principal advisor on security, emergency preparedness and CI/CT matters. Serves as a primary representative for all matters related to Executive Order 13526, for Classified National Security Information.
- Serves as the NASA representative on the National Industrial Security Program Advisory Committee, the Department of Homeland Security/Interagency Security Committee, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency Interagency Remote Sensing Coordination Cell.
- As the principal advisor to the Administrator, presents, supports and represents security and CI/CT program policy, procedures and initiatives to higher level NASA management, the NASA community in general, and external agencies and groups (e.g., Office of Management and Budget, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Intelligence Community, National Counterintelligence Center, Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel and Committees of Congress).
- In cooperation with the Mission Directorate Offices and NASA Centers, the incumbent plans, develops, leads and measures the effectiveness of the Agency's security and CI programs, including the three security pillars: The Protection of People; The Protection of Information; The Protection of Property.
- Fosters and continually drives a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence, and innovation within and outside of the organization and NASA. - The individual selected will be required to file an 'Executive Branch Personnel Financial Disclosure Report' (OGE-278) in accordance with the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.
- Successful completion of a background investigation commensurate with the risk and sensitivity level of the position.
- Successful completion of pre-employment and random drug testing may be required.
- Must meet qualifications requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

**Qualifications**:

- You must have the skill and ability to perform the duties described above as demonstrated by progressively responsible supervisory/leadership experience, normally obtained over several years by serving in positions at the GS-15 level or equivalent.-

**MTQ 1 -** Demonstrated experience in policy formulation, oversight, coordination, and management of protective services such as physical security of property and personnel, fire protection, emergency preparedness, information systems protection, and counterintelligence/counterterrorism (CI/CT) operations, processes, functions, and activities.
- **MTQ 2 -** Demonstrated experience in presenting security and CI/CT program policy, procedures, and initiatives to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

**Additional information**:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
