Director of Air Force Business Development

**Job Description**:
Position is responsible for the process of identification, qualification and capture of new business opportunities as well as the generation of qualified pipeline growth necessary to meet or exceed the company’s Air Force strategic business plans. In addition, this individual will plan and recommend BD and marketing strategies to achieve maximum customer and market penetration in the Northeast Region and to drive tactical and strategic growth in multiple markets and locations.

The position is available at the company’s office in Waltham, Massachusetts. Travel will be required to targeted market customer locations.

This position provides guidance and leads the development and execution of the company’s overall Air Force business strategy. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

- Identifying and managing capture/new Air Force or Northeast Market business opportunities
- Managing the Company’s Air Force Marketing Activities and Materials
- Maintaining business pipeline and management of proposal resources
- Coordinating with program managers to ensure a focused and unified message to customers
- Forming teaming relationships to pursue business opportunities
- Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies
- Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and phase reviews.
- Conduct customer visits and perform research to understand current and emerging customer needs and requirements
- Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to targeted market space
- Support creation and execution of multi-year target market business development strategies.
- Establish processes to vet other contractors to assess their capabilities to serve in prime or subcontractor roles

Other requirements of this position include but are not limited to:

- Demonstrated success in leading and winning contracts >$100M;
- Ability to identify, establish and use business relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders across customer areas;
- Experience leading large opportunity captures, including: Developing overall win strategy; shaping deals with customers; developing team strategies, and identifying and closing with teammates;
- Understanding pricing and assist in developing winning price
- Closely coordinate activities with Corporate BD, Enterprise Program Management team, and Group Leads/Organizations
- Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business aligned with the company's growth strategy
- Ability to develop, document, and execute a plan for achieving awards/growth.
- Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
- Knowledge of competitors and competitive pricing strategies
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance required.

**Job Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of direct experience (Master’s Degree plus a minimum of 8 years) in business development and capture management. The BDD will support the company’s strategic growth objectives by developing and refining an understanding of customers’ most important needs and creating/leading winning capture strategies to include shaping acquisition strategies. Direct experience with engineering and solutions-based services in Government settings required.
