**Job Summary**:
The Department of Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality is one of 13 departments within the Division of Student Affairs. It provides the campus community and guests with high-quality, efficient, and innovative event services and dining options in a variety of settings dedicated to accentuating and enhancing the campus experience in a diverse community.

This position plays an integral role in EMDH by contributing to the fiscal management of the department through a variety of accounting tasks such as processing data, monitoring and reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records.

**Salary Rate / Pay Rate**:
$18.25 - $22.50 per hour

**Required Qualifications**:

- 1. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:

- A) course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 9 semester hours equal two (2) years (24 months)

B) course work in any discipline or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equal one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
- 90 semester hours equal two (2) years (24 months)

C) work experience which could include bookkeeping, office support, or closely related experience.

1. Knowledge of basic accounting principles, methods and terminology.
2. Extensive knowledge of bookkeeping procedures including databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
3. Ability to work quickly and accurately with cash and figures.
4. High level of proficiency in using Excel spreadsheets.
5. Demonstrated ability to use independent judgments and initiative.
6. Accuracy, dependability, and clear written and spoken communication skills are essential.

**Work Hours**:
8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

**Functional Expectations**:
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Ability to effectively communicate on a daily basis, both verbally and in written forms.
2. Ability to use a computer in day-to-day work (i.e. type on a keyboard and use a mouse).
3. Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation.
4. Ability to maintain a high level of concentration.
5. Ability to carry and transport coin weighing approximately 26 pounds.
