**Job Summary**:
This position will assist with the supervision of a portion of the Institution’s Buildings and Grounds Maintenance program, providing direct supervision to specified maintenance staff and providing direction to department staff in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and institution grounds.
This position will participate in maintenance project planning, evaluation and management; direct the preventative maintenance, pest control, and grounds programs; determine supply and equipment needs; assist with monitoring budget expenditures; conduct health & safety checks/inspections.
Assigned responsibilities include monitoring supervision of Person in Our Care (PIOC) workers and supervising security staff to effectively carry out program functions.
**Minimally qualified applicants will have**:
- Experience maintaining or repairing systems commonly used in building/institution complexes. (i.e. heating, cooling & refrigeration systems, electric and mechanical equipment, food service equipment, grounds equipment, security systems, building structure components, plumbing, electrical, computerized and mechanical systems, and vehicles.)
- Experience planning and directing the maintenance and repair of service systems. (i.e. telephone, radio, computer local network, electric, security fences, cameras, natural gas, water distribution systems and storm, and sanitary sewer system.
**Special Requirements**:
- Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and will be required to meet State of Wisconsin fleet requirements.. Will be required to maintain a valid driver's license and eligibility to drive a fleet vehicle.
- Must have the ability to work up to 16 hours per day and more than 40 hours per week on any shift based on daily operational needs. This may include weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
- Ability to work within: a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions, noisy conditions, and within close physical proximity to PIOC and other staff members.
