THC has two state-of-the-art integrated operations in Adrian and Grand Rapids, Michigan, to grow, harvest, process, provision and package the highest quality premium medical cannabis product to allow patients to make the right choice with trust, dependability, consistency and care.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Extraction and Infusion, the Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Infused Products Technician team and Kitchen duties such as prepare and compound raw materials, fill product in its final packaging, and then place in shipping cartons. These procedures must be carried out sterile, safe, and orderly manner. The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for consistent implementation of approved Standard Operating Procedures, while seeking out opportunities for improvement in compliance standards and overall efficiencies in the kitchen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and quality standards developed by the VP of R&D and Quality Control
- Ensure compliance at all times and record all relevant information accurately in the company’s METRC system.
- Oversee kitchen production supplies and inventory, keeping inventory shrinkage to zero.
- Prepare product samples as needed for third-party lab testing in strict accordance with state testing protocols
- Train, oversee, and maximize productivity of all kitchen staff.
- Supervise day to day production operations such as: o Assemble raw materials for product being produced.
- Weigh, segment, and portion raw materials according to production instruction sheets
- Record materials taken from inventory and ensure inventory records are accurate.
- Prepare materials for compounding and, using delicate machinery, produce specified products.
- Attend the blending of the product, using a variety of laboratory apparatus equipment to verify that the process is proceeding correctly and measuring/checking for proper characteristics such as: pH, temperature, weight, color, fragrance, and taste
- Document steps in the production procedure and sign off on each step completed. o Accurately input data into batch records
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college or bachelor’s degree in science preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in commercial food production required.
- 1+ years’ management experience within a food production environment or commercial kitchen (not restaurant) required.
- Must have or obtain ServSafe food safety certification within the first 3 days of employment (the certification course can be taken online)
- Experience infusing foods and other products, working with cannabis oil infusion strongly preferred.
- Advance MS Excel skill required. Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Extensive walking, squatting, reaching, twisting, bending, standing.
- Carrying up to 75 pounds
- Working on wet and/orslippery surfaces Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Kitchen production and packaging staff
