Position: Full-time Food Services Coordinator

As a Food Services Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to prepare meals, snacks, and desserts for residential programs, special events, and training sessions. You will also develop a culturally sensitive menu tailored to the dietary needs of Refugee and Immigrant youth, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards set by the agency, state, and federal regulations. This may include accommodating Halal dietary practices, Central American cuisine, and other cultural preferences.

This role requires you to work effectively with moderate supervision while adhering to established procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen in accordance with Health Department standards.
  • Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Provide high-quality food service to all residential programs and staff events.
  • Keep accurate recipes and digital records for meal production, temperatures, and sanitation in line with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that digital records are available for audits and reviews.
  • Order or purchase necessary supplies promptly.
  • Receive and manage supplies from wholesalers.
  • Regularly meet with supervisors to discuss menu planning and catering events.
  • Participate in required training and apply new knowledge on the job.
  • Communicate with community resources as needed.
  • Offer catering services to other programs while prioritizing the needs of residents.
  • Provide opportunities for residents to assist in the kitchen as requested.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for youth, as necessary.
  • Stay informed about residents' dietary restrictions, allergies, and meal preparation needs.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least one year of hands-on experience is preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain ServSafe and ServSafe Allergens Certification.
  • Reliable with time-sensitive tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Pass a TB test annually and document preferences regarding Hepatitis immunization.
  • Valid motor vehicle license and reliable transportation with adequate insurance.
  • Pass a criminal history screening, including checks with child protection agency registries.
  • Commitment to the agency's Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles.
