**JOB POSTING - Grants and Continuous Improvement Specialist**

**Summary**:
The specialist is responsible for collaborating with the Directors for Elementary and Secondary Academic Services and overseeing assessment, federal and state programs, school improvement and MTSS initiatives and the implementation of research-based practices designed to overcome instructional/learning challenges. The specialist will have shared or primary oversight of 31a, Title I & II, III, IV, and other local instructional and supporting services programs within the district.

**Qualifications**:

- Teaching experience and building administration experience preferred
- Master’s degree is preferred
- Knowledge of Michigan’s state grants and federal grants preferred
- Knowledge of the Michigan Public School Accounting Manual (MDE Bulletin 1022) preferred
- Knowledge of MICIP preferred
- Knowledge of MUNIS financial software preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Excel preferred
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple competing priorities

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with Directors for Elementary and Secondary Academic Services and other district administrators on district data warehouse platforms
- Coordinate district data analysis with district administrators
- Actively monitor all available grants through federal, state, and local sources to optimize district funding
- Coordinate communications with Private/Non-Public schools and area consortiums to distribute grant funds and assist with purchasing
- Ensure grant spending is for allowable expenditures only
- Ensure grants are spent within their time period
- Assist in appropriate account reconciliation for reimbursements and timesheets
- Assure all year-end and interim reports are filed in a timely manner
- Monitor grants throughout the year for compliance and maintain agendas/meeting notes (2-4 per year) for potential audits
- Submit accurate budget projections to district administration and assist with informed grant expenditure decisions
- Periodic internal auditing of grants to ensure compliance and internal controls
- Ability to prepare, request, and/or approve cash draws for reimbursement grants
- Collaborate with KISD staff on various grants available through the ISD
- Communicate in a timely manner with MDE officials
- Attend state-wide conferences to ensure compliance with various grants and remain up to date on all compliance and grand expenditure periods
- Collect all appropriate semi-annual certifications for federal grants
- Collect and supervise accurate PARS reports
- Collaborate with the Director of Business and Financial Services to update the district-wide staff master with appropriate grant funded FTE allocations
- Collaborate with principals and teachers to support an effective system of invention for grades K-8.

**Salary Range**:$95,000-$105,000, based on administrative salary table and commensurate with experience

**Calendar**:210 days

Cedar Springs Public Schools is a Preschool through 12th-grade public school consisting of over 3,000 students and nearly 400 employees. We are located within the city limits of Cedar Springs, Michigan in Kent County. Cedar Springs Public Schools is one of 20 member public school districts within the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD).
