Dematic has an immediate need for a Proposal Specialist to be based in one of the U.S. offices located in the following states (Atlanta, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin or Home Based). This role is responsible for writing and editing our technical/contractual sales business proposal documents for our Global Software Organization Commercial team. The Proposal Specialist will develop proposals for the supply and installation of upgrades and enhancements to existing Dematic software systems that are focused on proposing Dematic solution(s) based on individual Customer’s needs. Pertinent information created by sales and solution engineers will be provided to support preparation of successful and accurate proposals. The Proposal Specialist will work with various Dematic departments as needed, to develop creative and competitive low risk solutions to meet each client’s needs. Department interactions to include Sales, Estimating, Legal, Customer Service, Engineering, and Marketing.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $53,000-$113,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:
This Is What You Will Do in This Role:

- Produce best in class proposals and templates as part of the Dematic Commercial Software team.
- Coordinate, write and edit technical sales proposal content for adherence to technical, contractual, and quality standards.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to see the big picture, and creatively strategize and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment with little supervision.
- Strong technical aptitude across software, controls, and mechanical disciplines and be able to effectively determine proposal scope, build proposal framework, create and edit the project proposal, and initiate and follow-up on submittal of proposal to Sales team.
- Familiarity with Visual Basic and/or HTML, and I Proposal automation preferred.
- Strong aptitude for creating standard solutions for building proposal framework.
- Ability to understand complex, technical information and communicate it with practical language.
- Flexibility when managing schedules, tasks, content, and requirements.
- Work proactively in the continuous improvement of company proposal templates and proposal processes.
- Questions, research, and resolves any identified potential issues in specific proposal text and boilerplate text, with appropriate team members such as Legal, Engineering, and Subject Matter Experts.
- Assists in the development of new proposal content and helps maintain and improve released proposal boilerplates.
- Provides troubleshooting and training assistance for the Dematic automated proposal tool functionality and usage.

What We Are Looking For:

- BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. Certification may be required in some areas.
- Typically, two to five years of successful experience in proposal writing/management, contract writing/management or related field and has successfully demonstrated the key responsibilities as presented above. Or two to five years’ experience as Paralegal or legal assistant preferred.
- Experience in multi-facility, international organization, and adept at working in diverse multi-cultural, fast-paced corporate environment successfully.
- High degree of proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to quickly learn new software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (both technical and non-technical).
- Ability to understand the base offerings of multiple software packages and nuanced differences between multiple similar offerings.
- Hands on experience developing software or producing technical documentation/manualsfor a prior software platform highly desired but not required.
- Basic Knowledge of inherent differences between different programmatic languages benefits/pitfalls (Ex. C/C++ vs. Java) helpful but not required.
- Knowledge of material handling systems (operations, equipment, software) helpful, but not required.
