**Role**:

Under both general and often independent of direct supervision, performs administrative and investigative work of moderate difficulty in both routine and emergency situations or special project work.

**Major Duties, Responsibilities**:

- Develops and implements procedures, operations, and special projects; coordinates and supervises selected functions within the agency.
- Coordinates and oversees various agency activities.
- Analyzes project data and makes recommendations.
- Works with and acts as project supervisor on various confidential and secure criminal intelligence information sources.
- Coordinates documentation with other Yavapai County departments as well as other law enforcement agencies.
- Coordinates procedures and information in emergency and critical situations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
**Education**:
High school diploma or equivalent.

**Experience**:
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience, to include two (2) years in law enforcement environment, preferably in an investigative division.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
- All persons will be required to complete a thorough background investigation to include, but not limited to polygraph, psychological, and physical fitness test.
- All persons must successfully complete a minimum six (6) month probation period.

- Current Microsoft Office software.
- Filing and recordkeeping.

- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicating orally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public and employees.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
- Organization and adherence to detail.

**Ability to**:

- Represents the agency in a positive manner.
- Respond to 24-hour callouts in times of emergency or critical incidents as required.
- Communicate effectively with the public and employees in times of emergency and/or personal crisis.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Review or check the work of others to ensure conformance to standards.
- Work in a multi-tasked, flexible work environment setting without constant supervision.
- Prioritize support services duties/responsibilities for Bureau personnel.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, employees of other departments, representatives of other organizations, County officials, and the public.
- Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
- Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
- Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always.
- Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.

**Work Environment**:
The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.

**Physical Requirements**:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
