Position Summary: The Technical Writer (mid-level) will be responsible for creating and publishing technical documentation and manuals, collecting and interpreting technical data or information, and coordinating the layout for publication. This role involves providing business process management and automation support services across multiple client suboffices, assisting with the general day-to-day operations and functions, and contributing to the implementation of strategic visions and directions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Create and publish comprehensive technical documentation and manuals.
- Collect, interpret, and organize technical data or information.
- Coordinate the layout and design for publication, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
- Develop user guides, training manuals, and system requirements documentation.
- Assist with determining user requirements and providing design input for grants management systems.
- Participate in meetings to discuss system enhancements or changes, acting as a liaison between policy and IT functions.
- Examine and propose automation solutions.
- Manage and organize knowledge bases related to training, policy, and compliance materials.
- Support the development of training, compliance, and informational materials for data sharing implementation activities.
- Partner with data repository colleagues to develop data sharing requirements.
- Provide project planning support to ensure projects adhere to requirements, milestone schedules, and deadlines.
- Guide project teams, maintain and integrate project plans, track and report progress, and monitor resource utilization.
- Establish and maintain a project documentation library.
- Coordinate, manage, and facilitate responses to customer inquiries in computer systems.
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of policy decisions related to grants data and systems.
- Develop authoritative resources, templates, processes, procedures, and new technologies.
- Implement and monitor business practices to maintain regulatory requirements.
- Provide consultation on policies and procedures related to the publication of announcements.
- Manage the production, review, approval, and publication of grants guides.
- Prepare reports, presentations, charts, diagrams, and other information materials for various stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 4 minimum years of experience in creating and publishing technical documentation and manuals.
- Strong ability to collect, interpret, and organize technical data.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Familiarity with NIH data systems including IMPACII, eRA, and QVR is preferred.
- Knowledge of systems and software engineering is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to present technical information to non-experts.
