Connect Ministry Assistant Director

The **Assistant Connect Director **works hand in hand with the Connect Director to shepherd people from a first-time guest to a fully engaged church member. This is done by partnering with other departments to identify and recruit people to fill positions according to their interests and giftedness and connecting individuals in a group/ministry that will help them grow in their relationship with Christ. This position will be expected to assist with developing church members, equipping them to serve in the ministry areas they are gifted in, identifying the appropriate ministry/discipleship opportunities available to those they are connecting with, and overseeing events assigned to the Connect Department.

**Highlights of key responsibilities**:

- The Assistant Connect Director will have diverse responsibilities, including working with the Connect Director to develop and maintain the Connect Process, which currently consists of Team Lone Star and Growth Track. Work with guests and members to identify classes/groups/ministry opportunities to help with healing and/or spiritual growth based on personal needs.
- Making follow-up phone calls to members and/or visitors who request personal contact via Connect Cards.
- Assist with the planning and oversight of various Community Outreach events. These can range from the One Connection and Volunteer Ball to coordinating volunteers for church services, Easter Services, Big Band, Christmas Eve Services, He Paid Your Fees, 3 Cross Meat Ministry Gala, and Rodeo Bible Camp.
- Act as the liaison for unexpected issues or emergencies concerning the Connect Department, as needed.
- Work in conjunction with Lone Star team leaders and volunteers, including Parking Lot, Greeters, Hospitality, Ushers, Prayer Team, Bread Team, General Store, Community Service, Baptism Team, Creative Team, and Connect Center.
- This position is required to work Sundays during church services and Monday evenings to fulfill the position's requirements.

**Qualifications**
- A mature faith and personal relationship with Christ is required
- Minimum 2 years of church ministry-related experience required (volunteer or vocational)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationships required
- Proficient event planning experience with the ability to meet deadlines preferred
- A high-school diploma or equivalent is required
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other applicable software (i.e., Breeze, etc.) is preferred
- Must work during church services on Sunday mornings and Monday nights.
