**Required Education and Experience**:
- Appropriate PhD
**Preferred Education and Experience**:
- Ph.D. in evolution/genetics or closely related field
- Experience designing and completing experiments
- Experience publishing research results in peer reviewed journals
- Experience conducting and coordinating field work
- Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- Experience with machine learning, phylogenetics, molecular sexing techniques, and invertebrate husbandry
- Strong background in statistics
**Responsibilities**:
- **Research/experiments**:Conducts research experiments. Collects data and analyzes results.
- **Documentation and publishing**: Writes manuscripts, presents findings, and contributes to grant proposals.
- **Training**: Trains and mentors junior scientists on lab techniques.
- **Lab Maintenance**: Responsible for general lab duties which includes but is not limited to purchasing model organism care, and assisting with reagent preparation and animal care, as well as performing other duties as assigned.
